On the first anniversary of Bitcoin’s 2024 halving, prices range between $80,000 and $90,000. In terms of percentage gains, this is the weakest post-halving performance on record.
Historically, Bitcoin typically experienced strong rebounds within 12 months after each halving: after the 2012 halving, BTC’s price skyrocketed by an astonishing 7,000%, while the 2016 and 2020 cycles saw gains of 291% and 541%, respectively. So far, the 2024 cycle has yet to follow this trend. Except for 2012, the price rallies that usually emerged nine months post-halving have clearly disappeared this time.
