Major investment in Bitcoin ETF from Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund

Mubadala Investment Company, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in Abu Dhabi, acquired 491,439 shares of the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF in the first quarter of 2025. Thus, the total number of IBIT shares held by the fund increased to 8,726,972.

According to the 13F report submitted to the SEC, although the value of the IBIT shares held by the fund fell to 408 million dollars due to market declines at the end of the quarter, recent increases have raised the size of this portfolio to 512 million dollars.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) ETF has become the leader of the US spot Bitcoin ETF market, reaching a size of 65 billion 400 million dollars and net inflows exceeding 45 billion 500 million dollars since its launch in January 2024.

Previously, Avenir, an investment company based in Hong Kong, had become Asia's largest Bitcoin ETF investor by acquiring 14 million 700 thousand IBIT shares.
