people often attempt to undermine my performance with: "all you do is trade moving averages"
> yet everyone has access to the same Moving Averages as me...so why not use them, if it's so easy?
because MAs themselves are not profitable long-term.
it's not as simple as turning on 200MA/EMA, and all of a sudden you're the greatest trader alive
that is incredibly naïve.
the simplicity in my Technical Analysis is very deliberate; it allows me to prioritize my execution, which is what truly matters.
it's my attempt at focusing on being a trader, and not a 'chartist'
the complications occur in my mind, when I consider things like risk tolerance, position-sizing, profit-taking, rotating exposure, cutting positions, etc.
the more simplistic my analysis is, the more fluid my execution.
the more seamless the execution = the more consistent/desirable the results
the best traders I know don't even use TA.
meanwhile, I know analysts that are a walking encyclopedia of all things TA, that make for terrible traders.
analysis is easy;
execution is hard.
