OpenAI CEO reveals new features of GPT-5: multi-model selection, larger context, and personality optimization.
[Golden Finance] OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: You can now choose Auto, Fast, or Thinking for GPT-5. Most users will choose the Auto model. The weekly quota for GPT-5 Thinking is 3,000, after which you can use the extra capacity of Thinking mini. The context limit for GPT-5 Thinking is 196,000 tokens. We may need to update the rate limits based on usage over time. 4o has now been re-added by default to the model selection for all paid users. If we plan to discontinue the model in the future, we will notify users well in advance. Paid users can now find the "Show more models" switch in the web settings, which, when enabled, allows adding models like o3, 4.1, and GPT-5 Thinking mini. 4.5 is only available to Pro users and requires a significant amount of GPU resources. We are updating the personality of GPT-5 to make it warmer than the current personality, but not as annoying to most users as 4o.
